The Process
However, the process is a also an incredible opportunity to meet new coaches, players, and teachers and to visit different universities. For a student-athlete, the process of deciding where to study and play football and the implications it can have in the future can seem daunting because you don’t want to make a bad decision.
Your coaches, friends, teammates, and family all have their own opinions and recommendations, and it’s worth listening to them. Ultimately, though, it’s up to you to make a decision that you will feel comfortable with. After all, it’s your future. You are bound to disappoint a few people along the way who want you to go to this school or that school, but they are not ones who have to put in the time training, studying, and playing. Now that I have made my decision, I want to add how grateful I feel to all of the coaches and schools that offered me a scholarship to play football at their schools. There are so many great programs that are highly competitive; making my final decision was not easy.
The process is incredibly humbling. Playing football started for me when I was six years old. It was something my brother and I did together with the incredible support of my mother and family. We love the game of football and have dedicated countless hours in practices and training, from junior league through high school. I’m very excited for what the future holds for me, and I’m committed to continuing my development as a student-athlete at Georgia.
I am truly grateful to everyone who supported me through this process and especially to all the coaches and schools that believed in me enough to offer me a scholarship. My focus will be on my continued development in school and as a football player. I look forward to putting my time and energy into being the best student-athlete that I can be.
