Georgia beats Alabama, Florida State for 5-star edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. on signing day

One of the most-anticipated signing day battles ended with a big win by Georgia when the Bulldogs received a commitment from Marvin Jones Jr., a five-star edge rusher from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage. Jones picked the Bulldogs over Alabama, Florida State and a host of other suitors.

Jones is the No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 2 edge rusher in the 247Sports Composite. He is the son of former Florida State All-American and 11-year NFL standout Marvin Jones.

Georgia is in contention with Alabama and Texas A&M to sign the No. 1 class in the nation. The Bulldogs won the recruiting crown in both 2018 and 2020.
